Midland Specialty Paper and Film Achieves Third Consecutive Year of Double-Digit Growth

WHEELING, Ill.—January 11, 2016—Midland Paper, Packaging + Supplies, one of North America's largest independent distributors of media for business communications, is pleased to announce that its Specialty Paper and Film Division has recently completed its third consecutive year of double-digit growth in 2015. Over the three-year period ended Dec. 31, 2015, Midland’s Specialty Paper and Film Division has achieved a compound annual growth rate in excess of 70 percent.

Midland’s Specialty Paper and Film Division offers commercial and digital printers across the United States a cost-effective solution for specialty substrates including:

• Digitally printable paper, labels, pressure-sensitive film and synthetic substrates
• Offset printable labels, pressure-sensitive film and synthetic substrates
• Wide- and grand-format substrates
• High-speed, continuous inkjet substrates

Fiscal 2015 was particularly exciting year for Midland’s Specialty Paper and Film Division. In September 2015, Midland acquired Shaughnessy Paper based out of St Louis. “Shaughnessy is a solid company that has great people and strong relationships with its suppliers and customers. They are certainly ahead of the game on the wide- and grand-format graphics side of the business. I am very excited about leveraging their leadership in this market sector in 2016 and beyond for our Specialty Paper and Film group,” remarked Mike Graves, Midland’s president and chief operations officer.
