Sandy's Graff to Be Honored at Franklin Event
NEW YORK—The Printing Industries Alliance Franklin Event Committee has announced the recipients of its 2011 Power of Communications Awards. In the printing category, Michael Graff—president and CEO of Clifton, NJ-based Sandy Alexander—will be feted this fall at a gala in Manhattan.
The program, established in 1971, provides industry recognition to individuals who have demonstrated positive influence and creative excellence in their designated area of graphic communications. The other 2011 winners are Laura Reid, vice president, production, Hearst Magazines, New York, in the publishing division; and
Rita Little, vice president, marketing, Bed Bath & Beyond, Farmingdale, NY, for retail advertising.
The recipient of the Franklin Award for Distinguished Service—the industry’s highest honor—will be announced shortly. Open nominations for Zenger Medal candidates will be accepted from all metro-area industry professionals until April 1, with the named recipient announced shortly thereafter. Criteria and forms are accessible here.
The Franklin Event, which has been held for more than half a century, is scheduled for Sept. 21 from 5:30-10 p.m. at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. Tickets are $350 each, and there are sponsorship programs available. Contact Vicki Keenan at vkeenan@PIAlliance or call (908) 233-4124 for more information.
