Mimeo Launches Cloud-based EDI Platform on Windows Azure BizTalk Services (Video)
NEW YORK, NY—July 18, 2013—Nimbo, an enterprise cloud services provider, is pleased to announce the successful completion of Mimeo’s cloud-based electronic data interchange (EDI) platform.
Mimeo offers Printing as a Service to some of the most well recognized brands in the world. Mimeo’s explosive growth created the need for a scalable trading-partner management solution to handle massive order volumes.
Nimbo created a cloud-based EDI platform that builds on Microsoft’s recently released Windows Azure BizTalk Services—this enables Mimeo to process purchase orders with ease during peak times such as the holidays.
Nimbo’s solution is the first publicly announced case study around WABS, which provides a robust and extensible solution for trading-partner management and EDI processing. Interest in cloud-based supply chains is growing dramatically as organizations experience measurable competitive advantage. David Uyttendaele, CTO and co-founder of Mimeo, explained, "The greatest benefit is flexibility in the Windows Azure infrastructure that allows us to scale when needed. We have a very seasonal business and we need to scale.”
David Aiken, group product marketing manager, Server and Tools Marketing, Microsoft, noted that Windows Azure BizTalk Services gives customers the advantages of a global, flexible, and scalable cloud platform that can be adapted on demand to meet fluctuating business needs. Nimbo’s cloud-based EDI platform lets customers take advantage of this flexibility to help grow their business.”
The solution enables Mimeo to expose its production platform to its partners, creating a more effective integration strategy and optimized customer experience.

About Mimeo
Mimeo was founded in 1998 as a technology company that prints. Success started with the deployment of a cloud based model called Printing as a Service, which places direct access and control of the Mimeo.com solution into the hands of customers and partners. With an Internet based connection to an ever expanding set of capabilities, efficiencies are gained that make it unnecessary for customers to invest in digital print infrastructure and staff.
