Call for Entries for Mohawk Show 11 Contest

COHOES, NY—December 14, 2009—Mohawk Fine Papers, Inc. has released the Mohawk Show 11 call for entries in the form of an oversized collectable poster. Entries are being accepted now through May 31, 2010.

Still running strong after 11 years, the Mohawk Show celebrates a year’s worth of extraordinary design and print communications produced on Mohawk paper. Every year, Mohawk receives hundreds of submissions from all over the world. Four Best of Show winners and one special category winner will each take home $5,000.

The show’s special category this year will be for Sustainable Design. In order for entries to fall into this group, the piece must in some way show consideration for sustainable practices. Judges will evaluate content, technique, processes, and materials and their impact on the environmental, social, or economic cost of print communication.

As in the past, the Mohawk Show judges are a team of graphic design professionals. This year’s panel consists of show chair Marty Neumeier, designer/author/brand consultant and Director of Transformation, Liquid Agency, San Jose; Diti Katona, Partner, Concrete Design, Toronto; Philippe Apeloig, freelance graphic designer and instructor, Paris; and Gaby Brink, Executive Creative Director, Tomorrow Partners, San Francisco.

All print communication work printed primarily on any Mohawk Fine Papers grade is eligible for entry. Printers and designers may submit as many entries as they choose and there are no entry fees. Judging will take place in June 2010, and winners will be notified immediately thereafter.
