Motheral Printing Acquired by Ovation Graphics
FORT WORTH, TX—May 31, 2012—After 78 years of family ownership, Jim Motheral, president of Motheral Printing, announced the company has been sold to Ovation Graphics. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
In 2004, Motheral (#162 with $29.9 million in sales, on the Printing Impressions 2011 Top 400 Ranking) expanded to its current CentrePort location, and rapid changes in technology coupled with the lingering effects of the recession eventually triggered the decision to sell.
“Motheral Printing is proud to have been a leader in the printing industry for over 78 years. It was in the best interest of all of our stakeholders to sell the business to an organization who could combine our capabilities with others to offer expanded services,” Motheral said.
Ovation Graphics recently purchased Fort Worth’s Branch-Smith Printing and is affiliated with Ussery Printing of Irving, TX.
Daniel Hanson, Ovation’s president, said, “We are delighted to announce this acquisition and to welcome the Motheral Team to our growing family. Our intention is to continue to build the finest print group in the Metroplex and to consolidate our operations into Motheral’s 150,000-square-foot facility located near DFW airport.”
Motheral Printing is known nationally as a high quality printer offering commercial printing, catalogs, special interest magazines, corporate literature and packaging products.
