MTL Print Fleshes Out Its Newly Announced North American Organization
ATLANTA—July 19, 2012—CEO Ran Emanuel revealed additional details of MTL Print’s plans for its North American organization, beginning with key executive personnel appointments in the sign and packaging sectors. The company this month opened its North American headquarters here in Atlanta’s popular Kennesaw suburb, where company representatives will showcase the NURstar 304 (formerly the Meital 304D) for visitors on July 27, 2012, in the on-site demonstration center,.
“The demand in North America—where we already have five machines up and running, and already more on order—made it clear that we needed to establish a North American base of operation sooner than later,” Emanuel says. “Finding the right people was critical, and so I’m very happy to share that we’ve thus far brought three of the sign and packaging print segments’ best.”
Sign Segment, West
Pedro Marcano hails from Arizona and brings 18 years of wide format engineering, service, support, and sales to MTL Print. Tenures with Lux Digital, Nur America, and Gandinnovations made Marcano one of the most in-demand experts in the growing field. He became known to the wider circle of industry professionals when he hosted myprinterisdown.com, Macroprinter’s interactive service site.
“Pedro utilizes his mix of experience and contacts to help customers tailor their resources to make them as competitive as possible,” Emanuel says. “He’s particularly good at maximizing companies’ existing strengths and helps push them into new areas they may not realize are feasible for them. We all know him, and everyone at MTL is happy that he’s agreed to come on board.”
Sign Segment, East
Henry Maya is a “pure, dyed-in-the-wool, sales star who really understands every facet of the business,” Emanuel says of the industry veteran who serves every customer with his comprehensive knowledge of ROI, inks, and virtually any other variable that will make a difference to a shop’s success. Once a Nur Macroprinters employee, Maya has sold dozens of wide and super wide machines throughout the Americas since 2001.
“Henry has seen and understands every configuration,” Emanuel continues, “and will help wide format customers integrate the NURstar 304 within any type of existing operation, as well as help organizations move into wide format with a full turnkey solution, because he understands so well all the elements - including substrates, ink, and personnel - necessary to getting the best ROI.”
Packaging
“Barabie Zohar possesses the very different and wide ranging skill set necessary for serving the packaging market,” says Emanuel. Not only does Zohar have customer-facing experience, he has worked to identify and close supplier side agreements and OEM partnerships “that have benefited the industry many times over.”
Because the understanding of packaging means understanding a very different supply chain, with numerous stakeholders and technology choices that are just beginning to intersect with conventional and digital graphic arts, Emanuel says that “Barabie has clear-cut knowledge about how it’s all coming together, and will therefore be able to show the benefit of MTL Print products to this market.”
Emanuel emphasizes Zohar’s track record in working with small through large industrial players in deploying new technologies and coping with changing market needs. “It’s precisely the kind of experience packaging professionals need,” he says.
