Demonstrated at the Muller Martini Graph Expo exhibit was the new and fully automated Primera E140 saddle stitcher. Changeovers were completed live, displaying the Primera E140’s ability to be readied for production quickly through the use of intuitive touchscreen technology and a user-friendly set-up wizard that take the operator step-by-step through the make-ready process. Also highlighted was the new feeder engineering on the Primera E140, specifically the company’s “Magic Wheel” feeder technology, which provides the ability to hold signature tolerances with significantly improved control. This important breakthrough in feeder innovation enables a wider range of jobs, especially difficult ones, to be produced faster and with less waste. Among the types of challenging jobs that are well suited for the Primera E140 saddle stitcher are those featuring smaller sizes, thinner and lighter-weight stocks and perforations.
