Muller Martini to Demonstrate Primera E140 Stitcher
HAUPPAUGE, NY—May 27, 2009—This September at Print 09, Muller Martini is showcasing its Primera E140 saddle stitcher, whose innovative features are already paying huge dividends for a variety of printers in the US and worldwide. Both fast and flexible, the Primera runs at up to 14,000 cycles per hour and is fully automated for rapid set-ups and changeovers.
Visitors to Muller Martini Booth #1137 will experience the Primera’s exceptional capabilities first hand, including its “Magic Wheel” feeding technology that’s engineered to hold signature tolerances with tighter control and greater precision, enabling difficult stitching jobs such as light weight paper stocks and smaller-size products. In addition, the Primera E140 is ergonomically designed for a smoother interaction between operator and machine, as well as enhanced safety.
“Our customers’ product mix has changed over the years, and Muller Martini saw the need for a new generation of saddle stitching technology designed to address those changes and to help create opportunities for printers and binderies to keep their business thriving,” commented Doug Stryker, Muller Martini Division Manager, Print Finishing Systems.
In addition to seeing changeovers completed live, the Primera will also be used to demonstrate an all-new open integration workflow solution that’s setting new standards on the production floor. Lean Manufacturing Workflows, a collaboration between Muller Martini, SoftSolutions and HIFLEX, enables printers and binderies to seamlessly integrate their MIS functions and post-press machines in an open architecture environment utilizing JDF/JMF integrated workflows. Production specifications can be electronically exchanged in real time, reducing or eliminating the need for costly manual data collection, while providing more accurate job costing reports, improved job planning, and better management dashboards for eliminating waste.
Said Stryker, “Because this workflow solution is built on an open platform, a wide range of print finishing machines old, new and yet to come, can utilize this workflow approach to share data and realize the substantial advantages of automation, making the most of return on equipment investment.”
Muller Martini print finishing experts will be available in the booth to provide operation-specific ideas about how Muller’s new line of Primera saddle stitchers and the new Workflow operations can help your business.
Print 09 takes place September 11-16 at McCormick Place in Chicago. It is the largest US tradeshow held for graphic design, digital prepress, printing, publishing and converting technology, encompassing nearly one million net square feet of exhibit space.
If you are unable to attend Print, but want a first hand look at the Primera E140 and the integrated workflow, there will be an Open House at Muller Martini’s corporate headquarters in Hauppauge, New York, on June 23 from 9am until 4pm.
