Muller Martini’s Open Architecture Integrated Workflow Demonstrations Were Definitive Crowd-Pleasers
HAUPPAUGE, NY—09/29/2009—Visitors to Muller Martini Booth #1137 at PRINT 09 experienced many of the latest productivity advancements and technological achievements available today for printers and binderies. From world-class print finishing machinery, to easily implemented, money-saving workflow systems, Muller continues to champion innovative capabilities.
One particular show-stopper was the versatile Primera E140 Saddle Stitcher that was utilized to demonstrate an all-new open architecture integrated workflow solution. This software integration collaboration between Muller Martini, SoftSolutions and HIFLEX enables printers and binderies to seamlessly integrate their MIS functions and post-press machines in an open architecture environment utilizing JDF/JMF integrated workflows to optimize efficiencies and eliminate waste.
Booth visitors were clearly enthused by the money-saving data and benefits derived from an integrated workflow solution. Many departed the booth with a complimentary copy of “Optimizing Post Press Performance” written by Muller Martini’s workflow authority and Regional Sales Manager, Peter Doyle. PDF versions of the book are available by emailing info@us.mullermartini.com.
Another highly discussed topic at the booth was Muller Martini’s SigmaLine, the unique total solution for on-demand digital book production. The SigmaLine networks digital printing and finishing in one unique overall system, enabling fully-automated production in one operation, from the roll to the completed book. During the tradeshow, RR Donnelly and Muller Martini announced an agreement to create the industry’s fastest inline ink jet printing and book binding system which utilizes SigmaLine technology.
“Economic trends continue to generate a great interest in digital technology. Many of our booth visitors expressed interest in solutions that could generate new revenue streams for their business, as well as a desire to better manage existing business through more efficient workflow configurations. Muller Martini remains committed to providing the print finishing solutions that our customers need in order to compete effectively,” said Werner Naegeli, President and CEO of Muller Martini Corp. “We are greatly encouraged by our customers’ desire to keep pace with the changing needs of the printing industry. PRINT 09 provided a robust venue for Muller Martini to actually demonstrate this commitment.”
Understanding that many printers need to get the most out of their existing equipment, Muller Martini has created the MMServices program. The program includes Preventative Maintenance Programs, Relocation Services, Certified Pre-Owned Equipment, consumable spare parts, plant efficiency/workflow consulting and the online customer service website Mpower. A major draw at the MMServices booth was the introduction of a unique online training program. Muller Martini has developed online training classes for their latest machines. These classes include lectures, videos and assessment tests and it prepares operators in advance of the installation or can be used to train new hires.
A sample of Muller Martini Pre-Owned Equipment was on display. These machines, either rebuilt or refurbished at Muller’s 10,000 square foot Rebuilt Facility in Allentown, PA, provide binderies the opportunity to purchase certified pre-owned Muller equipment at substantial savings.
