Muller Martini to Showcase Its New Digital Printing Solution at GRAPH EXPO
HAUPPAUGE, NY—August 11, 2011—Larger web widths, a wider range of substrates and product variety is on the increase as processing times are getting shorter. In addition, one-off production of saddle-stitched products is increasing, as personalized products allow publishers and advertisers to reach targets more successfully.
This production shift presents a number of challenges throughout the entire manufacturing process—from printing, to finishing to workflow—as traditional methods adapt to co-exist with digital alternatives. And the more powerful digital printing systems become, the more challenging the finishing process will be.
During this year’s GRAPH EXPO, Muller Martini will showcase its Primera Digital saddle-stitching system which can accommodate both digital and conventional print finishing processes. The Primera Digital manufacturing solution opens up the market for full-color digitally printed magazines, periodicals and brochures. The show will feature the Primera Digital’s new and innovative processing folder with gathering station, as well as highly automated technology from the Primera modular system with a cover folder feeder, stitching machine and three-knife trimmer. A variety of products will be produced live, non-stop and on-the-fly.
The Primera Digital offers all the advantages of a powerful saddle-stitching solution and provides the highest possible levels of automation and process reliability. It features a modular system and can be configured with signature feeders for conventional applications. As a matter of fact, all of the configurations that are possible with the Primera modular system are also possible using the Primera Digital.
Customers who choose a Muller Martini Primera saddle stitcher for conventional finishing can count on the fact that the system can be subsequently integrated into a digital printing line at any time. This makes it a highly secure investment that can easily adapt to changing business and customer needs.
The Primera Digital can also be integrated into a Muller Martini SigmaLine complete system. The SigmaLine networks all processes, from the prepress specifications through to digital printing and finishing, in one complete system, enabling fully automated production in a single operation, from the roll to the finished printed product.
GRAPH EXPO takes place Sept. 11-14, 2011 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Muller Martini engineers and experts will be on hand in Booth #845 to provide insight and ideas about how Muller’s innovative technology can help printers and binderies “Connect with MM Digital” and grow their businesses.
