MINNEAPOLIS—March 16, 2015—Muscle Bound Bindery, a full-service provider of hardcover and softcover bookbinding solutions, proudly announces that the company’s casing-in production line has been completely rebuilt. This extensive process included disassembly, cleaning and inspection of all mechanical and electrical systems prior to replacing worn parts, reassembly and final testing. The result is an improvement in both product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
The rebuilding process occurred during February 2015. Significantly affected customers were notified weeks in advance to accommodate their production schedule needs during the month-long rebuilding process. Muscle Bound Bindery’s management and customer service representatives worked closely with many customers during this period.
“To comply with our continuous improvement goals, this significant maintenance project needed to be done. Since casing-in is the final step in our hard cover book production process, there is no good time for a shutdown,” said Mat Browne, Muscle Bound Bindery’s general manager. “The only question was how to rebuild this vitally important piece of equipment while minimizing the short term impact on our customers.”
As of March 1, Muscle Bound Bindery customers started benefiting from faster make readies and more consistent quality.
