NAPL Begins Year-Long Celebration of 75th Anniversary at Soderstrom Society Dinner in Chicago
PARAMUS, NJ—JULY 20, 2007—NAPL (www.napl.org), the trade association for excellence in graphic communications management, is holding a special gala at its annual Walter E. Soderstrom Dinner to mark the beginning of a year-long celebration of the Association’s 75th Anniversary. The Soderstrom Society Dinner will be held this year on Saturday, September 8, 2007, the eve of GRAPH EXPO®, at the Art Institute of Chicago, which was also the site of NAPL’s 50th Anniversary celebration in 1983.
The Soderstrom Society Dinner will also include the induction of new Soderstrom Society members and the presentation of the 2007 Walter E. Soderstrom Award, which this year goes to Joseph A. Becker, CPA, respected longtime financial management consultant to the printing industry (see related July 20, 2007, NAPL press release).
Each Soderstrom Dinner attendee will be presented with a copy of a spectacular new 75-year history of NAPL titled From Pioneers to Leaders. Written by former NAPL President I. Gregg Van Wert, the 440+-page book features a wealth of information and photos detailing NAPL’s 75 years of service. Special presentations throughout the evening will recall the Association’s proud history and provide a look ahead to the many ways NAPL will continue its steadfast commitment to advancing its members and the graphic communications industry.
Throughout the balance of this year and throughout 2008, visitors to the Association’s website, www.napl.org may take a “journey through time,” browsing some memorable moments in the history of the industry and of NAPL since its founding by Walter E. Soderstrom in 1933.
