NAPL Makes Its Proprietary Custom Research Services Available to Industry
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—April 11, 2013—For the first time in its 80-year history, the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) is making the primary and proprietary research services of its NAPL Research Center available to the industry.
Effective June 1, 2013, NAPL will offer its custom research capabilities to a limited number of suppliers and manufacturers who wish to gain important insights from the most influential and successful business leaders in the industry about their view of markets, technology, capital investment, talent acquisition, and new business directions.
“The kinds of insights gained through NAPL custom research can be invaluable for any organization seeking to provide solutions-based products and services to our industry,” noted NAPL President and CEO Joseph P. Truncale, Ph.D.
“Whatever a supplier’s product, service, or specialty, access to primary and proprietary research that is reliable and statistically valid can provide a significant competitive advantage in making market decisions that will have major implications for any company’s future, especially in the midst of a major industry transformation,” he continued. “NAPL has long been known for conducting some of the most important research available to the industry. Studies such as our flagship State of the Industry Report are built from the ground up, based on survey responses from hundreds of printing and graphic communications companies that make up our Printing Business Panel.
Truncale also added that over the last 25 years, under the leadership of NAPL Senior Vice President and Chief Economist Andrew Paparozzi, NAPL has developed a panel representing companies of all sizes and specialties, comprising a reliable and statistically valid sample of the industry at large. Panel participation is by invitation and members report their data to the NAPL Research Center on a consistent basis.
“We realized from the start that consistency is the key to building the kind of research capability that grows in importance and value over time,” said Paparozzi. “We assure Panel participants that all data submitted to NAPL will always be confidential, but they also know that it will never be anonymous, for only by knowing the identity of the participants can we build the kind of reliable and projectable database that will provide unique value.
Paparozzi also noted that one of the most important features of NAPL's research is that so many industry leaders participating allow, and even encourage, deep discussion with NAPL's researchers about the forces taking shape in their marketplace and how their companies are planning to respond. “And because our research panel is consistent, our data are projectable, providing valid and reliable reports that will stand up even to the most robust academic research requirements.”
