Strategic Marketing/PR Firm in Minnesota Buys Commercial Printing Firm Engage Print
NORTHFIELD, MN—April 22, 2015—Neuger Communications Group, a full-service strategic communications and public relations firm with offices in Northfield and Minneapolis, has acquired Engage Print, a full-service commercial printing company specializing in sheetfed and digital printing solutions. The two firms will operate separate brands under one ownership structure. Combined, the two firms employ more than 25 individuals. Neuger Communications Group anticipates employment growth for both firms as a result of the combination.
"We’ve recognized for a long time that the future of communications integrates the digital, electronic and print worlds," said David Neuger, president and CEO of Neuger Communications Group. "We’re excited about the investment we have made and we believe commercial printing is a logical growth path for our business. Our print design business is growing nicely alongside our other business disciplines as companies are using print to make an impact, drive traffic to Websites and call centers, and produce memorable hands-on experiences not possible with digital-only communications. Print has always integrated well with the digital capability and Website work we do; bringing print capabilities in-house strengthens our ability to provide seamless, creative solutions from concept to delivery."
Neuger Communications Group is one of the largest firms of its kind based in southern Minnesota. Now in its second decade of operations, the firm provides integrated services including strategic planning, communications audits, branding, Web and app development, brochure creation, and traditional and social media services. As a regional firm with both local and national clients, Neuger Communications Group serves organizations in a wide range of industries including manufacturing, financial services, senior services, healthcare, heavy equipment and agriculture, and nonprofit organizations.
Engage Print has been serving clients in the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota for more than 40 years and has a wide range of capabilities including prepress services, digital printing, sheetfed printing and bindery services. The business started when Orwin Marks bought the commercial printing business from Northfield News, the community’s local newspaper. In 1980, Alan Marks, current president of Engage Print, joined his father in the business.
"There was a time when print appeared to be falling out of vogue when online channels were opening up to marketers," noted Alan Marks. "We’re now seeing many businesses return to print for their marketing communications needs. We hear from clients on a regular basis that high quality printed materials still make an impact and can drive action from customers, especially when they are integrated in a multi-channel campaign."
Marks continued, "We are looking forward to bringing new capabilities to the market along with the additional resources of the two firms working side by side. For example, we are installing next month a new six- color, 28" Heidelberg press with inline aqueous coating that will considerably boost our ability to serve a specific niche in the marketplace. Customers have been asking for this capability and we’re delighted to be able to offer it, along with increased access to other communications services."
