Standard Spending $10M on Center of Excellence
“Standard Register’s $10 million investment in this new Center of Excellence allows us to operate more efficiently, advance our digital printing capabilities and leverage the deep capability of the local workforce to better serve our customers,” said Joseph Morgan Jr., president and CEO.
The new Center of Excellence, which is expected to be operational early in the third quarter of 2013, will leverage technologies for advanced color management, planning and scheduling, and workflow management. The center will also offer distribution and kitting services similar to other Standard Register facilities including secure storage areas, order fulfillment, track and trace, and kitting, while also utilizing RF scanning, barcoding and RFID technology. The center’s proximity will provide easy access to United Parcel Service’s (UPS) Worldport, reportedly the world’s largest fully automated package handling facility.
