New Gravure Press Showcased at Bobst Open House
LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND—06/06/07—The latest Bobst gravure printing line, the Lemanic Delta, was shown in live demonstration to 120 international visitors during the recent “Bobst Web Fed Solutions” Open House, held at Bobst’s Mex, Switzerland plant in May 2007.
Part of the gravure press product line, the Lemanic Delta meets the differing requirements and applications of the gravure print market - ranging from tobacco to general folding cartons. As a leader in the industry, the Bobst Web Fed Solutions product line represents almost 70 years of experience servicing customers worldwide and has established “Best Practices” in the field of printing and in-line converting.
The Lemanic Delta (Delta stands for Differentiation) perfectly suits the tagline: Truly differentiate yourself with BOBST Gravure. This machine offers an affordable solution to general folding carton producers and to those operating medium production runs of hard and soft tobacco packs. Carton makers are now in a position to address higher added-value markets as the DELTA offers exceptional features such as brilliant colors, the ability to use metallic inks or UV lacquer, reverse printing, slitting rewinding, in-line sheeting or rotary diecutting.
Bobst, a leader in folding carton equipment, offers various solutions to supplement the in-line sheeting of the Lemanic Delta. The SPanthera Autoplaten® diecutter or Foilmaster® hot-foil stamper as well as the Alpina II and Mistral folder-gluers, offer complementary solutions for a seamless process, allowing precise and accurate production in the various steps towards the end product.
Visitors were impressed by the accuracy and stability of the register control at all phases of production. The extremely rapid and efficient register performance system developed jointly with Rotomec - leading supplier of flexible packaging equipment and a member of the Bobst Group since 2004 - integrates the company’s proven electronic shaft technology with Registron S-5100 register control. The unit’s HDI (High Dynamic Interface) function enables register correction up to five times faster, giving dramatic waste reduction thereby maximizing press profitability.
“The determining element in our success has always been our people”, explained Benedikt Schwartz, Sales & Marketing Manager for Bobst’s Web Fed Solution Product Line. “The determination and enthusiasm of our personnel, who rise to the challenge of continuously improving our products and services by sharing their technical and commercial know-how in a constructive way, has enabled us to broaden our approach, improve the gravure product range and strengthen our competitiveness.”
Recently installed at a customer’s plant, the next full demonstration of the Delta press will be hosted in Shenzen, China.
