Strong Success with Océ Cutsheet Printers
According to InfoTrends recent report, for the 200+ ipm monochrome cutsheet printer segment, such as the Océ VarioPrint 6200 and Océ VarioPrint 6250 models, Océ achieved the top share position with 57.7 percent of placements in 2008. When combining monochrome units, such as the entire Océ VarioPrint 6000 product line, with spot color capable cutsheet printers, such as the Océ VarioPrint 5000 system; Océ secured the number two ranking in the 135+ ipm cutsheet printer segment, with 23.3 percent of placements in 2008.
Powered by revolutionary Océ Gemini Instant Duplex technology, the Océ VarioPrint 6000 family is the world’s most productive digital duplex cut-sheet printing system. The InfoTrends 2008 market share numbers demonstrate industry acceptance of the innovative approach of this breakthrough product family. Since its launch in 2007, the popular system has received widespread recognition, including: the 2007 PIA/GATF InterTech Technology Award, Graph Expo® 2007 MUST SEE ‘EM award, ON DEMAND® Conference Best of Show also in 2007, and the Beyond Five Star rating from BERTL® in 2008. This award-winning print system also uses paper, toner and energy more economically, thanks to its double-sided print technology and efficient single-pass operation. The Océ VarioPrint 6250 system emits 50 percent less ozone, uses up to 30 percent less power consumption than its competitors, and has no toner waste.
Océ Again Dominates Continuous Feed Market
The InfoTrends report on the continuous feed printer segment includes monochrome, spot color, and process color print engines. Océ has held the top spot in the continuous feed segment since 2003, the first year that InfoTrends began tracking market share for this segment. The latest InfoTrends research demonstrates continued strong growth, with Océ market share in the U.S. increasing by eight percent in 2008. Océ dominated this segment with 57.5 percent market share of all continuous feed engines sold, over four times more than its closest competitor, and 72.1 percent market share of monochrome and spot color engines.
