PARSIPPANY, NJ—EarthColor announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to purchase an unspecified number of Landa Nanographic Printing presses.
"We are excited about the future and how the Landa solution will transform existing technology and fulfill the promise of merging offset and digital printing into a single format, allowing for a true print-on-demand solution," said EarthColor CEO Robert Kashan.
As a Landa technology fan, Cheryl Kahanec, executive vice president of EarthDigital, was impressed and excited when she was approached by two of Landa's executives in late 2011.
"We have long-standing admiration and respect for Benny Landa and his colleagues," Kahanec explains. "Even though we were not able to hear precisely what was being developed in the beginning, it was evident from our conversations that something very special was in the works."
Landa has really rethought the printing experience when designing the Nanographic Printing presses, Kashan adds. "By combining multiple manufacturing functions into a single streamlined process, our clients will achieve their marketing goals more efficiently and economically."
Landa Nanographic Printing presses are planned for release in late 2013. With the productivity, substrate range, offset print qualities and a break-even point of around 5,000 sheets, Nanography claims to be the first digital printing process that can be used for mainstream applications.
