New Océ VarioPrint 1105 Cut-sheet Production System Brings Print Shops More Flexibility
TRUMBULL, CT—July 23, 2008—Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, announces an option-rich addition to its cut-sheet production printing portfolio. The Océ VarioPrint 1105 system greatly expands users’ choices for paper input and output, workflow software, business applications and quality finishing. The monochrome laser printer/copier/scanner helps in-house and commercial print shops extend service offerings, enhance customer satisfaction, and improve professionalism and profitability.
“In-house and commercial print shops face pressure to prove their worth. With its extensive range of capabilities, the Océ VarioPrint 1105 system helps our customers accomplish more work and meet unexpected demands,” said Eric De Goeijen, Vice President of Marketing, Océ North America. “The Océ VarioPrint 1105 system makes it easier for print shops to do business across a broader range of requirements.”
The 105 images-per-minute Océ VarioPrint 1105 is already a BERTL®-Certified Exceptional 5 Star Award winner. The 10,000-sheet capacity expands versatility and gives users longer unattended print copy runs. Each of two high-capacity stackers has a capacity of up to 5,000 sheets and offers both offset and cart-mounted stacking. Two 500-sheet insert trays support preprinted inserts to reduce manual intervention and streamline production processes.
The system provides valuable optional capabilities geared to popular digital publishing applications. The booklet maker option saddle stitches up to 50 sheets with face-edge trimming. A staple finisher features two-point and corner stapling of up to 100 sheets, with variable staple length and offset stacking of up to 3,000 sheets. A multi-folding/punch/post-inserting unit supports many popular fold styles, along with two- and three-hole punching and insertion of pre-printed sheets and covers. The perfect binder uses hot-melt glue binding to create books of up to 30 mm thickness. It supports face-edge cover trimming and insertion of pre-printed covers or cover printing during the actual run to avoid downtime. Output capacity is up to 50 books. Users can offer book binding support for up to 300 sheets (600 pages) for publishing jobs.
The Océ VarioPrint 1105 system is supported by Océ PRISMAprepare software, a full workflow software solution based on market-standard Adobe PDF workflow. It simplifies prepress tasks and takes advantage of the system’s finishing capabilities. Océ PRISMA software gives print shops more control over their Océ VarioPrint 1105 print workflow, and over non-Océ printers as well. This can translate into real cost savings through reduced user error, more efficient use of systems, and easy charge back to appropriate departments.
Océ is supporting the Océ VarioPrint 1105 system with the Océ Professional Print Room Program. This program helps companies take a strategic but realistic look at their document production infrastructure to enhance service, maximize cost savings and demonstrate value. The program is based on a phased approach, with each step focused on measurable business objectives. Océ has experience with hundreds of print shops around the world and brings a broad range of experience and ideas to every customer site. Companies can dramatically improve their efficiency and become profit centers with changes to streamline their document workflow. Together, Océ hardware, software and support give in-house and commercial print shops the means to thrive in today’s challenging business climate.
The Océ VarioPrint 1105 system is available immediately throughout North America.
