Pitney Bowes Unveiling New Presorting Facility
STAMFORD, CT—Pitney Bowes is opening a new mail presorting facility in Grand Prairie, TX. The new site replaces the company’s former facility nearby that was destroyed in a fire this past February. Despite the disaster, Pitney Bowes made all requested customer pickups and began processing customer mail at other locations within 24 hours of the fire, which started in an adjoining business.
The new Pitney Bowes facility will presort more than 1.6 billion pieces of First Class letter mail per year. The 161,000-square-foot center will employ approximately 400 people.
Pitney Bowes enables customers to receive significant postage discounts on First Class letters and flats, and standard mail. Pitney Bowes currently handles 14 billion pieces of mail per year through its 36 facilities across the United States.
