NORWALK, Conn.—January 15, 2016—Leading Silicon Valley print provider JP Graphics has acquired a Xerox Color 1000i press to help drive growth in digital printing of specialty products, packaging and greeting cards. The JP Graphics system includes the press's optional fifth toner station for printing clear and gold and silver metallic toners to generate effects that can add value.
"The Color Press 1000i will enable JP Graphics to grow through quick-turn, high-quality digital prints on demand," said Joan Escover, president, JP Graphics. "We added the clear dry ink along with gold and silver metallic inks to the system so we can offer the widest range of products and choices to our customers."
JP Graphics also plans to engage Xerox for help in developing the new business offerings and in building a new digital storefront.
The new press was delivered with a Xerox EX-P 1000i Print Server, Powered by EFI Fiery, on Nov. 27, the Friday after Thanksgiving. "Xerox was incredible," Escover said, describing the installation. "Xerox worked through the weekend to get it fully operational and generating new revenue to JP Graphics on Monday."
The Color Xerox 1000i press provides the industry’s first capability to print with metallic gold and silver dry inks, along with optimal quality, productivity and press availability to meet most every digital printing need. Print speeds are as fast as 100 ppm, print resolution is 2,400 x 2,400 dpi, and substrates range to 350 gsm, including a wide range of synthetics, polyesters and other specialty media.
