Objective Advantage to Demonstrate Latest Version of Symbio Web-to-finish Production Workflow
HOUSTON—March 28th 2008—Objective Advantage (OA), the specialist print software developer, will present its latest version of Symbio V2.0, in a fully automated live web-to-finish production workflow at drupa 2008.
Designed to enable optimum efficiency and scalability, Symbio is a suite of easy to use software management tools which seamlessly integrates and automates all aspects of print production and order management at the plant level. Symbio enables print jobs to enter via web submission, and pass seamlessly from one process to another, and through to delivery of the final product without any need for manual intervention.
Version 2.0 of Symbio comprises a range of technical enhancements to facilitate easier integration and a series of user benefits to further simplify workflow operations. Among the greatest enhancements to the solution is the ability to handle booklet work and improve visibility into the progress of orders through production.
Booklet Production - When PDFs with multiple pages are submitted, Symbio can now automate their production the same way it handles simple pdf’s.
Enhanced Status & Tracking – Real-time status information about Orders and Order components as well as automated SLA compliance monitoring.
Simple Mail Integration – Automated envelope or mailing label production for small-volume mailing operations or company truck.
At drupa 2008, Objective Advantage is partnering with Duplo and Pageflex to recreate a real production environment on the Duplo booth (B53 Hall 13) to give visitors an overview of how prepress, print and finishing can be seamlessly integrated into a fully automated workflow, to eliminate manual errors, deliver greater production efficiencies and maximize profitability.
The live demonstration will see a range of print jobs initiated via the Pageflex™ Storefront web submission software and transmitted via a web service call to Symbio. Symbio automatically transmits all the job instructions to the digital press and then onto the Duplo DC-645 Production Color Finisher where the job automatically receives instruction to slit, cut and crease the printed output in one single pass, and deliver a finished product.
“Automation offers significant opportunities for printers however big or small, to maximize production output, increase efficiencies and deliver quality products at a profit,” said Gareth O’Brien, Chief Executive Officer at Objective Advantage. “At drupa 2008, by teaming up with a number of partners, we want to demonstrate to visitors just how simple it is to integrate existing technologies and equipment into a fully automated production workflow that can make a real difference to their bottom line and give them the competitive edge to become an industry leader.”
