TRUMBULL, CT—February 23, 2009—Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, announced that one of the world's largest commercial and book printers--Quebecor World, Inc.—has enhanced its book publishing infrastructure with an Océ VarioStream® 9210 continuous feed printing system, along with Océ PRISMAproduction™ software and Lasermax® pre- and post-processing systems. The monochrome and color-capable digital printer is used in the Dubuque, Iowa facility to generate books in cost- effective short runs for some of the world's premier book publishers. The company selected the Océ VarioStream 9000 platform to improve image quality, uptime, and operational efficiencies.

The printing systems in the Dubuque plant primarily produce textbooks for leading educational publishers that demand sophisticated versioning capabilities, speed to market and excellent quality. The Océ VarioStream 9210 digital book printing configuration includes a Graphic Arts Controller, Océ PRISMAproduction POD software to enable a smooth efficient workflow and Océ TrueProof® software to enable convenient online proofing.
