Océ Highlights Color Leadership, Cutsheet Productivity and Workflow Innovation at the 2009 On Demand Conference and Exhibition
PHILADELPHIA—March 30, 2009—Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, showcased an innovative collection of solutions at the 2009 ON DEMAND® conference in Philadelphia. With a show theme of "Color, the New Black," Océ recognizes the powerful influence of color on all types of corporate reprographics departments and commercial printing businesses with transactional, graphic arts, books and other applications requiring reliable, versatile technology. The Océ hardware and software portfolio demonstrated at the ON DEMAND conference displays an integrated approach to the color and monochrome requirements of today’s professional print environments.
ON DEMAND attendees will get their first look at the new Océ CS Tandem family of full-color cutsheet digital production printers. The Océ CS Tandem platform unites multiple Océ CS665pro print engines with a centralized server, sophisticated color management software, and validated color consistency to deliver a new level of color performance in one integrated system. Users can manage the group of printers from a single workstation, intelligently balancing workloads across engines – without sacrificing output quality. As a result, print providers looking to enter the production color market have a real alternative to offset presses and expensive, lower-quality color digital printers. Available in multi-engine Océ CS130Tpro, Océ CS195Tpro and Océ CS260Tpro configurations, engine speeds range from 130 to 260 pages per minute. The Océ CS family represents the first production color platform to be designated a FograCert Validation Printing System based on ISO 12647 part 7, a third-party validation that documents predictable, consistent and measurable quality.
The monochrome Océ VarioPrint® 4120 digital print system brings total productivity to on demand print environments. With inline finishing, attendees can see a richly productive approach to black and white cutsheet output. The system offers maximum throughput, reliability, quality, ease-of-use and flexibility to handle a wide range of applications and media such as tabbed, mixed stock, color inserts and custom sizes. Finishing choices include stapling, punching, folding and booklet making. At the ON DEMAND conference, the 120 ppm Océ VarioPrint 4120 digital printer/scanner/copier demonstrates best-in-class versatility and power. It has a recommended volume range up to 1,500,000 prints per month, with peak capacity up to 2,500,000 prints per month.
At the ON DEMAND conference, Océ print systems are paired with the latest Océ PRISMA® software available, including Océ PRISMAsync™, Océ PRISMAweb™, Océ PRISMAprepare™, Océ PRISMAarchive™ and Océ PRISMAaccess™ offerings.
The new Océ PRISMAsync controller family harmonizes color and monochrome cutsheet workflow for in-house and digital printshops. At the ON DEMAND conference, the Océ PRISMAsync controller synchronizes workflow for the Océ CS665 color system and Océ VarioPrint 4120 monochrome systems, showing attendees how workflow automation integrates multiple printing systems from one unified controller. Printshops can achieve greater ease of use, reduced training and production costs, increased productivity and profits.
New Océ PRISMAweb 5.0 software is an immediate, cost-effective choice for Print Service Providers wanting to expand with online applications and accounts. Océ PRISMAweb software ports Océ PRISMA workflow capabilities to the web, resulting in highly automated business and production processes delivered with online speed and convenience. As a result, print service providers gain efficiency and savings and establish a proven, scalable platform for future expansion of online services and applications. Conference attendees can see how the new user-friendly interface and advanced infrastructure foster improved scalability reduced set up costs, and unparalleled flexibility. Océ PRISMAweb eManager 2.0, an extension of the Océ PRISMAweb platform, automates business workflow in commercial printing and print-on-demand environments. Océ PRISMAweb eManager 2.0 software provides a single platform for ordering and billing of online, offline and nonprint services.
As web-based services become more prevalent, in-house and commercial printshops need expanded capabilities to optimize their online workflow and better serve customers. Océ PRISMAaccess print management software lets print operations leverage online print workflow for improved order capture and job efficiency and accuracy. Attendees will see how Océ PRISMAaccess software simplifies the printing process, while making it highly reliable and consistent. In-house and commercial printshops and their clients benefit from easier job submission and acceptance, accelerated workflows, and fast notification of job status and completion.
Océ PRISMAaccess print management software is complemented by Océ PRISMAprepare and Océ PRISMAarchive software for a comprehensive end-to-end job management process. Océ PRISMAprepare software offers full make-ready tools with robust clean-up, extensive automated layout options, soft proofing and basic pre-flighting for both analog and digital documents, significantly reducing pre-production make-ready time. Océ PRISMAarchive software, an EMC® Centera® Certified system, enables web-based reprint and internal make ready archive capabilities plus an option for CD/DVD publishing as an additional printroom service opportunity. The combination of this powerful Océ PRISMA solution enables on demand operations to take on more short-run jobs, while controlling margins through online automation and streamlined workflow. By minimizing time-consuming steps, operations can confidently commit to rapid order turnarounds and just-in-time printing, giving them an advantage over less agile competitors.
