Virginia Printer Closing its Doors
WINCHESTER, VA—Internet technology has taken its toll on Impressions Plus Printing and Copying, which announced that it will close this month following 27 years in operation, the Northern Virginia Daily News reported.
Owner Todd Thompson told the newspaper that his company would cease taking orders after Feb. 15. Thompson cited the trend toward online bill paying, online competition and a general slowing of business as the reasons behind the closure. Impressions Plus provided small cutsheet jobs, business cards, vinyl banners and other various items, but did not have a niche, Thompson told the Daily News.
Thompson said a number of his 11 employees are already entertaining job offers and he is confident that workers with their talent won't have any trouble finding new employers. But the shop owner was not so confident about his own fortunes.
"This is what I've done for 27 years," he told the paper. "I don't know how good I am at doing something else."
