Paul Reilly, a founding partner of New Direction Partners, the leading investment banking and financial advisory firm in the graphic communications industry, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Print & Graphic Communications Association (PGCA) at their upcoming Franklin Event, being held March 30, 2023, in Manhattan. Visit printcommunications.org/2023-franklin-event/ for information on sponsorship and tickets.
Since its founding in April 2009, New Direction Partners has completed over 300 transactions representing over $4 billion in sales value.
Mr. Reilly’s industry career began in 1978 with Polychrome. He left that company as General Manager of the Americas and Southeast Asia in 1993. Shortly thereafter, with business partner, Jerry Mahoney, they grew the Jersey City envelope company, Pavey Envelope & Tag into Mail-Well, a NYSE listed firm. That began an acquisition spree that grew Mail-Well into Cenveo, one of the largest printing firms in the world. Paul served as President & COO from 1998 to 2001. He accepted the role of President & CEO and Board Chair until he left the company in 2005. Over time, Cenveo acquired over 200 companies, giving Mr. Reilly a deep understanding of the M&A market.
Mr. Reilly’s career extends far beyond the Mergers & Acquisitions marketplace. He has generously given his time and expertise to a variety of companies and association Boards of Directors and is a frequent, and very much in demand, speaker at industry association events across the country. In that capacity, his knowledge, expertise, and willingness to share has certainly assisted many seminar attendees in understanding the complexities of succession planning, company valuation and a myriad of other issues. Additionally, he has provided consulting, organizational development assistance, and strategic planning facilitation on a pro-bono basis for several non-profit organizations. He is a frequent author on management issues for a variety of trade publications.
In late 2022, Paul announced his intention to transition into retirement by stepping back from full time engagement at New Direction Partners. He is looking forward to spending even more time with Patty, his wife of 48 years, his three children and their spouses and, perhaps most importantly, his six grandchildren. He is also looking forward to a little more time for non-family passions: golf, skiing and sailing. Paul was born and raised in Queens, NY and is a graduate of Baruch College where he received a BBA in Finance and an MBA in Computer Methodology.
Mr. Reilly will be honored at the Print & Graphic Communications Association’s Franklin Event taking place on March 30, 2023. The event starts at 6:00 pm and is being held at The Lighthouse in the Chelsea Piers complex in Manhattan.
Along with Mr. Reilly, the 2023 Franklin Event will feature additional industry awards, plenty of networking opportunities with industry leaders and, of course, presentation of the Franklin Award for Community Service to Mariano Rivera.
