MONTREAL—A six-color, 56? KBA Rapida 142 hybrid UV press is the centerpiece of a $7 million capex investment project by Pazazz, which is looking to establish itself beyond the 40? sheetfed market. The plant upgrade also includes a large-format Fuji Ultima platesetter, Busch pile turner and large-format Perfecta cutting system. The company is going through some major overhauls, as it renovates its new 65,000-square-foot facility. According to Warren Werbitt, Pazazz founder and CEO, the large-format specialty market will enable the company to differentiate itself from the 40? sheetfed offset sector.
“We now have the largest KBA press in Canada, the first of its kind, and are offering solutions that no other printer in the country can—all under one roof,” he says.
“Unique finishes and coatings—such as strike-through and soft touch, as well as scented inks—truly enhance the product,” Werbitt notes. “We can now print on multiple substrates up to 48-pt., as well as compete with the silkscreen market.”
Pazazz offers conventional and UV litho printing, digital and flexographic labels, and digital wide-format production.
