Perfect Image, the award-winning commercial printer and marketing support partner based in Marietta, Georgia, announced a major leadership realignment with the appointment of Rumonda “Rod” Smith as executive vice president – general manager, a newly created role adding depth and strength to the company’s leadership team. As part of the realignment, Ron Bedingfield, production manager for the firm since 2019, has been promoted to plant manager.
Smith is a veteran of the commercial printing and vertical technology consulting industries, bringing more than 30 years of management, IT, and client service expertise to Perfect Image. He is responsible for daily operations and financial and print production performance at Perfect Image, an all-encompassing role with oversight of business strategy development, planning, budgeting, systems integration, quality control, scheduling, purchasing, team management, professional development, and talent acquisition and retention.
“Rod has a diversified skill set that is very rare among today’s commercial printing firms,” said Ira Jackson, president of Perfect Image. “We’re fortunate to welcome aboard a professional of his caliber at this juncture in our strong period of growth. I’m confident that Rod and Ron will grow our performance as we continue making smart investments in our people and operations.”
“What attracted me to Perfect Image is the firm’s trailblazing history in the printing industry, with its continual adoption of advanced technologies and solutions. However, most impressive to me is Ira’s steadfast commitment to serving his clients, staff, and community. His devotion to being a servant leader is purposeful, compelling, and inspiring, and it will be my high honor to work alongside Ira, Ron, and the entire Perfect Image team in moving the Orange & Grey forward,” Smith said.
Before joining Perfect Image, Smith was a professional services consultant specializing in implementation and training for print industry enterprise resource planning (ERP) and management information systems (MIS), most recently for Eastman Kodak Company, and earlier for EFI Pace (now ePS), also a global print industry solutions provider. Smith previously held several management and service roles at print and graphics firms across the Southeast United States. He earned a degree in Print Production Management from Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, where he graduated magna cum laude.
