Phil MacAskill, Gravure and Retail Insert Printing Innovator, Passed Away
Philip MacAskill, a former Quebecor printing executive who helped build Worldcolor’s industry-leading gravure and retail printing platform, has passed away in Texas at the age of 76. MacAskill retired from Quebecor in 1998 after 25 years of executive operational management responsibilities, principally in gravure and retail operations. He was one of the architects of a coast-to-coast retail manufacturing and distribution strategy that today remains one of the market strengths of the Worldcolor organization. MacAskill, Philip R. Age 76, of Frisco, TX, passed away on January 11, 2010, in Plano, TX. He was born on January 31, 1933, in West Roxbury, MA, to Philip Donald and Sarah (Sadie) MacAskill. Philip served his country in the United States Air Force. He married Helen Beth Bentley on December 21, 1987 in Edina, MN. He worked as an Executive with Quebecor World Printing. He is survived by his wife, Helen MacAskill of Frisco, TX; children, Tom and Nancy MacAskill of Plano, TX, Steve and Brenda MacAskill of Flower Mound, TX, Ginny and Paul Goldense of Medfield, MA, Cathi Hataway of McKinney, TX, Paige Pelini of Minneapolis, MN and eleven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends during a Visitation to be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2010.
