Phoenix Lithographing Merges with Innovation Printing & Communications, Innovation Marketing
PHILADELPHIA—June 13, 2013—Phoenix Lithographing, the commercial printing division of The Phoenix Group and one of the largest full-service commercial printing, packaging, mailing and fulfillment companies serving the Philadelphia and southern New Jersey markets, announced its merger with neighboring companies Innovation Printing & Communications and Innovation Marketing.
Both of the companies—whose headquarters stand less than one hundred yards apart on Caroline Road in northeast Philadelphia—have a long history of producing award-winning printing, and have frequently partnered in recent years, each taking advantage of the core competencies of the other to better meet their respective clients’ needs.
With an impressive array of sheetfed, web and digital presses, Phoenix’s 24/7 pressroom is a showcase for its relentless commitment to apply the best in state-of-the-art equipment for the benefit of its customers. Phoenix also offers marketing, creative and production services to a client list ranging from small businesses to multinational corporations.
Innovation’s extensive digital print capabilities, sheetfed and unmatched Web-enabled solutions have made it a regional leader as well, and the companies look forward to bringing their combined talents and expertise to better serve their combined customer base.
Both companies have broadened their respective mailing services through significant investment in the latest inserting and imaging equipment. This merger substantially increases their footprint in this sector, making the combined company a regional leader in technology and production capacity.
Barry Green, chairman of Phoenix, stated that Innovation’s executive team—Jeff Jones, Dave Carpenter and George Slater—will all serve on Phoenix’s board of directors. Dave Carpenter will serve as president of the combined company.
“I have watched Innovation grow and transform over the years," said Green. "They are an extremely well-managed company. We look forward to bringing them under the Phoenix umbrella and taking advantage of the technologies they have brought into this market.”
Carpenter also added that "the consumer in today’s printing industry is calling for suppliers with broad capabilities and services who have the capacity to handle the largest projects and the attention to detail to deliver the most intricate and complex projects on time and on budget."
The merger brings together two companies with a combined 85 years of history. The expanded Phoenix Group anticipates approximately $100 million in annual sales. They are conveniently located minutes from the Pennsylvania Turnpike, US-1 and I-95, and a short drive from both Philadelphia International Airport and the Trenton transit center. Northeast Regional Airport is less than one mile away.
