Chicago-Area Marketing Services Provider Plum Grove Merges With Trade Show Display Specialist
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL—September 17, 2014—Print, promotional products and signage firm Plum Grove has merged with Schaumburg, IL-based Tradeshows and Displays. Tradeshows and Displays will migrate its entire staff and roster of clients down the road here, becoming a subsidiary of Plum Grove. Both businesses point to broader spectrum of marketing services for their clients and increased efficiencies as the logic of the merger.
Plum Grove, one of the nation's fastest-growing business printers, gains a seasoned staff of trade show experts and a strong foothold in the world of trade show booths and display printing. Plum Grove already produces many printed products used in trade show marketing, like custom promotional pens, logo mugs, business cards and promotional literature. With its recent expansion into wide-format printing, the firm can also print large-scale display signs, wall displays and vinyl decals.
Now Plum Grove, together with Tradeshows and Displays, can offer clients decades of experience selling custom trade show displays.
Founded in 1989, Tradeshows and Displays specializes in printing trade show displays for businesses that market through conventions. A six-person staff consults with conventioneers to craft branded trade show booths, banners, pop-up displays and more. The firm delivers high-impact wide-format printing for the competitive atmosphere of the trade show floor.
Partnering with Plum Grove offered the firm a snug niche in a rapidly-growing, top 50 American printer—and one that's headquartered literally only a few miles down the road.
"We go together like peas and carrots," said Tradeshows and Displays President Jim Noon. "We can now offer even more integrated marketing solutions."
Plum Grove Founder Peter Lineal also noted: "Plum Grove is now a one-stop trade show print marketing powerhouse. Trade show clients will receive expert consultation from the Tradeshows and Displays staff to design their display booths and graphics. At the same time, we can deliver the full-color brochures, imprinted pens, logo ad specialties, and branded shirts for traffic-building at the exhibit hall. We can provide a 360-degree approach to trade show marketing for all our clients whether they are a Plum Grove client or a Tradeshows and Displays client."
Tradeshows and Displays will continue its operations as a separate brand within the Plum Grove family. All full-time staff will continue on from both firms.
Plum Grove, based in the Chicago suburbs since 1980, emerged strong from the harsh 2009 recession that put many printers out of business. The printer bloomed with 27 percent growth in 2012 and 36 percent growth in 2013, compared to a 1.5 percent industry average. Plum Grove has invested its profits back into the company, purchasing two new digital printing presses and launching a signage printing division before the recent merger with Tradeshows and Displays.
The merged Plum Grove and Tradeshows and Displays company, with a combined staff of 27, will be based at Plum Grove's environmentally friendly plant in Hoffman Estates, IL.
