HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL—Jan. 15, 2013—Amid the lingering effects of the recession and an evolving business environment for the printing industry, Plum Grove Printers posted a noteworthy 28 percent increase in sales for 2012. The company’s sales were up throughout the year, but were boosted by an especially strong fourth quarter, with sales up 55 percent for the quarter compared to the same period of 2011.
Plum Grove, which was founded in suburban Chicago in 1980, has a staff of around 20 and an environmentally-friendly ethos. Peter Lineal, the firm’s founder, attributes the 2012 sales boom to businesses increasing their print marketing as the economy improves.
“We are not in the business of ink-on-paper,” Lineal noted. “Our business is marketing and sales growth solutions. It’s not just the full-color flyer—it’s the professional art design of a postcard, mailed to your best targeted prospects as efficiently and inexpensively as possible. It’s promotional products for coherent company branding. Printing and marketing pair together to increase the value of business, and we have the experience and competence to make it work.
“21st-century business is a cross-media marketing world,” Lineal continued. “Businesses survive and thrive using all of the new digital marketing channels but traditional marketing continues to be very effective, especially those media you can hold in your hands and feel, and not just view on a screen.”
Another factor in Plum Grove's 2012 success are custom corporate print sites, which simplify how franchises, multi-location businesses and dealerships order marketing materials. Local offices use these websites to order the products they need—imprinted stationary, branded hats, business cards, or hundreds of other products. The locations are empowered to control their own sales and marketing, and corporate headquarters gets an inexpensive and efficient way to protect the organization’s brand integrity.
“2013 is starting well for Plum Grove,” Lineal said. “We are about to launch our completely re-engineered company website. We aspire to innovate and thrive in the New Year.”
