HOFHEIM, GERMANY—04/22/08—Polar, a manufacturer of high-speed cutters worldwide, will be represented at the drupa 2008 with an innovative and complete line of machines in Hall 1, Stand A 02, a total of 48 machines with 7 gripper systems, of which 11 are high-speed cutters as well as 2 automated cutters. This equipment will be shown on approximately 1,000 square metres. The machines and systems are divided into four areas:
• Ideas for cutting/trimming
• Ideas for automation
• Ideas for label production
• Ideas for networking for various applications.
POLAR therefore addresses customers with different technical requirements and supports them with new ideas.
When providers are faced with customers’ special cutting problems, they need cost-effective solutions. With “Ideas for cutting” POLAR shows special solutions with different systems and highspeed cutters. They all aim at improving the quality and productivity (between 30 and 100 %) in special as well as in “normal” cutting jobs.
For this POLAR displays the following:
C1 Cutting Machine POLAR 66 X
C2 Cutting Machine POLAR 66
C3 High-Speed Cutter POLAR 78 X
C4 High-Speed Cutter POLAR 92 XT
C5 High-Speed Cutter POLAR 115 XT
C6 POLAR Cutting System L-R-137-P
C7 POLAR Cutting System L-R-137-T
C8 POLAR Pile Turner PW-4 ABV
C9 POLAR Pile Turner PW-6 ABV
With their “Ideas for automation” POLAR focuses on the industrial working customer whose main goal is the reduction of his unit costs. Here they show new and patented/patent applied products which increase productivity and help reduce personnel costs. When using large formats, the automation of cutting systems represents a very important factor to improve not only the productivity but also the ergonomics. The possible increase in productivity through automation is apparent with the POLAR Automation for Cutting Efficiency PACE and the new jogging system Autojog XT.
For this POLAR displays the following:
• A1 POLAR Automated Jogging System AJ-T for the automatic preparation of cutting material
• A2 POLAR Cutting System L-R-137-T PACE for fully automated cutting
• A3 POLAR Cutting System L-R-176-T PACE for fully automatic all-round cutting and unloading in large format
With “Ideas for label production” POLAR offers highly efficient solutions for the production of punched and trimmed end products. Components and systems for both industrial production and for smaller and medium print volumes can be found. POLAR shows an innovative solution for compressible
materials with the new Counter-Pressure Die-Cutter DCC-M.
For this POLAR displays the following:
For industrial production
• L1 POLAR LabelSystem DC-11 for punching labels
• HD11 POLAR LabelSystem SC-21 for cutting labels (in the area of Integrated Packaging Production in Hall 2)
• L5 Jogging Station L-R4-T
For smaller and medium sized print runs
• L2 POLAR Counter-Pressure Die-Cutter DCC-M
• L3 POLAR LabelSystem L-R-92-B for cutting and banding of calling cards, cutting labels, postcards, etc.
• L4 POLAR SoloPunch DC-M
The “Ideas for Networking” are combined under the name P-Net. They open up unforeseeable possibilities. Set-up times for the high-speed cutter can be reduced to zero and service costs can be lowered drastically. They enable the operation of one or more peripheral units from the high-speed
cutter. This is, of course, the basis of integration in the Production-Planning-Systems.
For this POLAR displays the following:
• N1 Networking with P-Net through High-Speed Cutter POLAR 78 XT
• N2 P-Net Terminal for Demonstration
• HD22 Networking with P-Net through High-Speed Cutter POLAR 115 XT in the area Prinect in Hall 1
Here a selection of ideas and innovations which will be shown:
