Quad Expanding OKC Facility, Adding Employees
SUSSEX, WI—Quad/Graphics will build on a 93,800-square-foot storage area onto its Oklahoma City facility, a move that carries a $7 million price tag, The Oklahoman reported. It reportedly will be used to store up to 30 million pounds of paper. Construction is expected to be completed this fall.
A press from a closed plant will be relocated there and the printer will hire 80 full-time and 50 part-time workers to meet the added demand. The new staff will include equipment operators, equipment maintenance professionals, electricians and customer service representatives, according to the newspaper.
The added staff will push Quad's employee rolls at Oklahoma City to more than 700. The catalog and publication printing operation opened in 2003 and has grown to one million square feet, making it the company's largest print production facility west of the Mississippi River, spokesperson Claire Ho told the paper.
