PressAccess Adds Service Arm to Growing Portfolio
CUMMING, GA—March 30, 2009—ServiceAccess is the latest addition to a growing portfolio of services from the Access Group of companies, which includes PressAccess, a leading supplier of superior pre-owned printing equipment with an unparalleled, 12-month warranty program; GreenAccess, a mill-direct paper recycling program; and CleanAccess, an ultrasonic cleaning service for blanket washers and anilox rollers.
ServiceAccess completes all inspections, de-installations and re-installations for PressAccess and administers all 12-month warranty programs sold by PressAccess. The company also is available to handle a variety of additional tasks, including independent inspections, plant moves, maintenance, etc. Customers need not have purchased equipment from PressAccess to enlist the support of ServiceAccess.
“ServiceAccess is the strong right arm every business leader needs,” says Clyde Tillman, President of PressAccess. “Our staff of factory-trained former Heidelberg technicians have years of experience installing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of equipment.”
According to ServiceAccess President Joe Seifert, “We insist that the technician who de-installs the equipment also re-install the machine, thereby ensuring complete accountability from the start of a project to the finish.”
With the assistance of both PressAccess and ServiceAccess, 1-800-POSTCARDS recently became the first company in North America to install a used Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105 press outside of the manufacturer. PressAccess located the XL 105 in the UK, and arranged for its installation at 1-800-POSTCARDS by ServiceAccess in February. The machine was in full production within two weeks of installation, and now can be seen running 18,000 sph on a daily basis on the sixth floor of 1-800’s Manhattan facility. The company has taken the PressAccess 12-month warranty on the XL 105, just as it did for the Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 74 5-color press it also purchased from PressAccess in 2008.
“I don’t see many companies buying new equipment these days,” says David Moyal, president of the 12-year-old commercial printer to the trade, “but I also feel strongly that while business is slow, it’s time to invest and upgrade in order to come out ahead of the pack when the economy recovers.” That said, “As the economy turned sour, buying used became a more attractive option, especially with the kind of service you get from an outfit like ServiceAccess,” Moyal adds. “Clyde and his team were here at the drop of a hat, and they stuck with us through an extended training process.” Post-installation, Joe Seifert stays in close touch, he says, adding, “I like doing business with PressAccess and ServiceAccess because I can call the boss directly. I can’t do that with a big corporate entity.”
