Digital Bookline Will Help Courier Produce Hardcover Books in Short Print Run Lengths
NORTH CHELMSFORD, MA—By purchasing a new Diamant MC Digital bookline from Muller Martini at drupa, Courier Corp. can now produce short-run, hardcover books. Courier prints digital products here under the brand name Courier Digital Solutions (CDS), which predominately manufactures textbooks for schools and universities, as well as specialty trade books.
Courier has had a Diamant bookline in operation for six years at a different site and had recently purchased a second machine, making this Diamant its third. “Courier and Muller Martini not only have a strong long-term partnership; we also have the same goals when it comes to production processes,” says Joseph Brennan, vice president of engineering at Courier, explaining the reasons behind this most recent investment.
“In addition, the Diamant enables us to offer our customers high-quality hardcover books equivalent in every way to books produced in our offset plants.”
Invitation Consultants Brings Finishing Work In-House With Equipment Installation
TAMPA, FL—Invitation Consultants has added a new Duplo DC-615 Pro slitter/cutter/creaser at its facility here to complete projects such as invitations, greeting cards, thank you cards and photo announcements. “We were not cutting the jobs ourselves before,” says Olivier De Meulder, vice president of Invitation Consultants. “The machine now allows us to bring finishing in-house and become more profitable.”
What Meulder also likes about the new DC-615 is that its PC Controller software enables the operator to set up programs, manage all functions, and store and recall jobs via a PC more quickly and efficiently.
Invitation Consultants provides stationery for weddings and other special life moments to customers nationwide.
