WARRENDALE, Pa.—November 25, 2015—The Print and Graphic Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) opened its system for application entries on November 1, 2015. Housed under the same roof as Printing Industries of America (PIA), PGSF has coordinated the printing industry’s largest scholarship program since its inception in 1956. Individuals, companies, and associations provide both annual and endowed scholarship funds to PGSF, which administers the scholarship and fellowship programs for the industry.
The not-for-profit, private, industry-directed organization dispenses undergraduate college scholarships and graduate fellowship assistance to talented men and women interested in graphic communication careers. Applicants must remain full-time students, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, enroll in a two- or four-year accredited graphic arts or printing program at a technical school, college, or university within the United States, and pursue a career in graphic communications, printing technology, printing management, or publishing.
"Receiving the scholarship motivated me to maintain my GPA and complete my degree," said Angel Allen, student, Western Michigan University. "I look forward to being able to give back once I begin my career in printing."
Students may apply online at www.pgsf.org/pgsf-scholarship-application. The application consists of general demographic questions as well as essay-based inquiries. Teachers, mentors, and others can also submit reference letters online.
