Anicolor Press Replaces Digital Printer for Short Runs
LEXINGTON, KY— Southeast Mail Service has replaced a color digital printer with a four-color Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 52 with Anicolor inking to handle its short-run commercial jobs. "We were plagued by breakdowns on all but the shortest runs with our digital machine," says Jeff Fraley, vice president. "The first day we ran the SM 52, we finished four or five jobs (a total of 26,000 impressions) completely trouble-free." He adds that any job greater than 300 impressions is now run on the new SM 52.
Ries Expands Reach With Outsert System
BUTLER, WI—Ries Graphics, a full-service commercial printer, recently installed a Vijuk MV-08 outsert system to finish the inserts and onserts it prints. "The Vijuk gives us the versatility to meet our customers' needs to fold larger flat sheets into smaller finished sizes with more panels than we could previously produce," says part owner/vice president Don Ries. "The new folding capabilities also allow us to expand our market for onserts and inserts. As a result, we are in the process of hiring more operators and support people." Ries Graphics produces brochures, catalogs, direct mail, directories, magazines, maps, calendars, books and other commercial printed pieces.
