Mimeo's $11.3M Expansion Could Add 190 New Jobs
MEMPHIS, TN—Mimeo.com is planning an $11.3 million expansion of its facility here, according to The (Memphis, TN) Commercial Appeal. The expansion is expected to create 190 new jobs by 2016. The information was revealed in an application to the Memphis and Shelby County Industrial Development Board (IDB).
The online, on-demand printing company filed a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) application with the IDB. The additional jobs added in the expansion would exceed $81 million in payroll and benefits during the eight-year duration of the PILOT. Mimeo, in turn, would save nearly $891,000 in city and county property taxes over the same period.
Citing the application, the newspaper reported that Mimeo plans to serve new photo clients and enhance its ability to provide its largest clients with related services. It has forged partnerships with Kodak and Snapfish for the production of photo books, photos and greeting cards, among other items.
