Alphagraphics Macon Selects MGI Meteor DP60 Pro Digital Press
MELBOURNE, FL—March 15, 2011—MGI Digital Graphic Technology, the manufacturer of digital printing and finishing solutions, announced that Alphagraphics Macon (Georgia) has installed a Meteor DP60 Pro multi-substrate digital press.
Established in 1998, Alphagraphics Macon is a full-service commercial printer located in downtown Macon in a restored historic building. The company offers a wide range of services, including digital and conventional offset printing, mailing and fulfillment, graphic design, marketing services and wide format printing.
Richard Dannenberg, owner of the Macon franchise location, conducted an extensive evaluation of digital color equipment last year. After multiple demonstrations from the major manufacturers, the decision was made to purchase the MGI Meteor DP60 Pro from Paper Handling Solutions of Marietta, GA. While reliability and print quality were critical to the decision, versatility was a major factor. The MGI Meteor DP60 Pro prints on the broadest range of substrates and has format size capabilities found in no other sheetfed digital press.
“New product opportunities are a large key to growth in this tough market environment,” said Dannenberg. “Not only does the Meteor DP60 Pro produce offset quality prints for short runs, it expands applications dramatically with the extended size sheet capabilities. With the ability to now print on a wider range of substrates, including plastics and envelopes, it opens up a new range of products that we can now produce in-house and our sales team can present to our customers.”
“After a very thorough evaluation of our press we are delighted to have Alphagraphics join our family of MGI users,” said Don Barbour, Sales Manager of Paper Handling Solutions.
The flagship in MGI’s digital line and with hundreds of installations worldwide, key features of the Meteor DP60 Pro include true multi-substrate versatility (widest range of paper, plastics and envelopes), sheet sizes up to 13x40˝ in production as a standard feature (up to 13x47˝ via manual bypass), laser-safe prints, offset comparable color output (Fogra certified), plus no click charge and an economical total cost of operation.
