Canadian Printer Goes High-Tech
EDMONTON, ALBERTA—McCallum Printing Group has launched a technologically advanced printing plant to satisfy its customers' needs. The company was developed from the ground up utilizing Heidelberg's most advanced tools. These include a Prinect workflow, a Heidelberg Topsetter P 102 with Satin screening, two Speedmaster 102-6+LX presses, a Stitchmaster ST100 stitcher and Polar 137ED cutting system.
Hi-Liter Graphics, located in Burlington, WI, has promoted Angela Damon to vice president of finance and Lynn Breunig to information systems manager.
Digital printer Top Graphics has announced the addition of four new shareholders and named Steve Kodner as company president. Tony Hennrich, Michael Hayes and Michael Johnston will join Kodner as new working shareholders. Rick Schubert, who has owned the Maryland Heights, MO-based printer since 1980, will continue with the company as a partner and serve as executive vice president.
Phoenix-based Cereus Graphics scored big at two recent printing competitions. The company was awarded "Best of Show" honors at the GATF/PIA Annual Print Excellence Awards, and also took home four Gold, one Silver and one Bronze award for work in the annual report, magazine and presentation categories. One of the Gold award winners, a 2002 annual report done for Scottsdale Insurance, also won the Silver Quill award from the International Association of Business Communicators.
Niles, IL-based Graphic Converting reports that Patrick Earley, a certified public accountant, has joined the company as CFO.
The National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) has named Dean D'Ambrosi senior staff director, member relations. In his new role, D'Ambrosi, who joined NAPL in 1996 and most recently served as senior staff director, financial services and CFO, will oversee membership recruitment and retention initiatives.
Banta Corp. has announced two key promotions at its corporate offices in Menasha, WI. Ginger Jones, corporate controller, has been named vice president, corporate controller, and Michael Tobin, corporate tax manager, has been named corporate tax director.
Richard (Rick) Hastings is the winner of the annual John H. Dillard Award as Sales/Marketing Manager of the Year. Hastings, who has spent 30 years in graphic arts sales and management, has been vice president of sales and marketing at The C.J. Krehbiel Co., Cincinnati, since 1991. The award is presented by the Graphic Arts Sales Foundation (GASF).
Fala Direct Marketing of Melville, NY, recently promoted Stephen Paladino to the position of president. Paladino, a certified public accountant, joined the company in 1996 as the CFO and was also named COO in 2002. Terrence Dawson was promoted to COO. Dawson was formerly vice president and general manager of Fala's sorting and international mailing operations. Mitch Hisiger was promoted to executive vice president of sales and marketing. He previously was senior vice president, sales.
Print Technologies and Services of Carol Stream, IL, has changed its name to CoreVision Group. CEO Leonard Mauceli says the company changed its name to reflect its "comprehensive line of vision-driven products and services."
James Hillman has been promoted from COO/president to president and CEO of South Bend, IN-based Mossberg & Co. He has been president since 1994. Also, Jim Rigney has been promoted to national account manager.
