Chris Feagans has been promoted to the position of executive vice president, production and operating services, at Keller Crescent, Evansville, IN. Most recently, he served the company as executive vice president, administration. In other company news, Mark Smythe has been promoted to executive vice president, client services. Smythe previously served as the company's vice president/account supervisor and as an account executive for the printing and packaging division.
The Printing Industries Association Serving Northern Kentucky and Ohio (PIANKO) has hired Thomas Caldwell as director of membership. He was recently brought on-board to head up the association's efforts to grow membership. Caldwell has served as a sales representative at various organizations since 1992.
Joe Piazza is the new general manager at Action Bindery, Atlanta. Piazza joins Action from its sister company, Spiral of Ohio.
Banta Corp. has announced several personnel changes. Mark Deterding has been named president of the Minneapolis-based Banta Catalog Group. Deterding joined the company as vice president and general manager of the Long Prairie, MN, Publications Group facility, becoming executive vice president of manufacturing for the entire Publications Group facility in 1996. Sara Armbruster has joined Banta as director of business development. Her previous position was with McKinsey & Co., Boston, where she worked for five years as an engagement manager. Ricardo Orozco has been promoted to vice president of human resources for the print sector. He joined Banta in 1996 as director of human resources for Banta's Marketing Group and was promoted to vice president of human resources, commercial print sector, in 2002.
Jeff Espin and Mike Sauter have joined Cadmus' healthcare packaging division sales team, based in Charlotte, NC. Espin brings 20 years of experience in the folding carton industry. Sauter comes to Cadmus with more than 28 years of sales, management and client relations experience in the pharmaceutical and health-related industries.
Tom Mahoney has been promoted to vice president of operations at Colorfx Inc., Des Moines, IA. He was previously a project manager.
Ted Robison has joined Wright Graphics, Chatsworth, CA, as director of sales for the printer's Northwestern sales region, which includes Northern California, Oregon and Washington. He has 30 years of industry experience, including serving as president of printing companies in Southern California, Minnesota and Texas.
J. Scotty Parker has been hired as the new president for Authentic Press, Fort Worth, TX. Parker is the former general manager of Marathon Press.
Dan Holtman has joined the sales team at Rink Printing, South Bend, IN. Holtman is a 36-year veteran of the printing industry.
Pro Graphics, Waukesha, WI, has announced the addition of two new account managers and an internal promotion. Kyle Jacob has been named marketing director. He has been with the company for 14 years. Stan Bullock has joined the company in a sales and service capacity. And James Matthias has joined Pro Graphics as an account executive. Matthias has 20 years of experience.
Verizon Information Services (VIS) has awarded Lloyd James, general manager of VIS' Los Angeles printing plant, the President's VISion Award. James has transformed his plant into a leader in continuous quality improvement. He has fine-tuned procedures and completed the rigorous requirements for the International Organization of Standardization (ISO 2000 Standard).
Loretta Nichols, president of LJS Graphics, has been named the 2003 Executive of the Year by the Printing and Imaging Association of MidAmerica. A strong commitment to her industry has been a hallmark of Nichols' active career. As past chairwoman of PIA of the Heartland, Nichols played an active role in the merger with the Texas/Oklahoma PIA affiliate to create the Printing and Imaging Association of MidAmerica.
Scott Poole has been named general manager for BCE (Business Card Express), in Needham, MA. Poole has more than 40 years of printing industry experience.
