Pearl Pressman Liberty Celebrates Centennial
PHILADELPHIA—Pearl Pressman Liberty Communications Group (PPLCG) appropriately chose The Franklin Institute as a backdrop to host its 100th anniversary celebration, which was attended by dozens of long-time employees and customers. The event featured a traditional birthday cake, an oversized card for attendees to sign and even a special appearance by Ben Franklin himself.
Terry Remaly, plant manager at Hopkins Printing, Columbus, OH, was honored with the “Craftsman of the Year” award by The Columbus Club of Printing House Craftsmen. In his 20 years at Hopkins Printing, Remaly has held positions as pressman, pressroom supervisor and his current position as plant manager.
The CGI Group of Jersey City, NJ, has hired L.J. Baillargeon as CFO. Baillargeon previously held positions with Automatic Data Processing and Cunningham Graphics.
Printing franchise Allegra Network reports that Steve White, Allegra’s executive vice president, has been named president of Signs Now, the company’s sign division. White will retain his involvement in key corporate and print division programs as executive vice president and member of the Allegra Network management team. He will also remain part of Allegra Network’s investor group.
Richmond, VA-based Cadmus Communications has named Peter Hanson as COO of its Publisher Services Group, a segment of Cadmus providing full-service content processing, printing and distribution services to scholarly, special interest and book publishers. In this role, Hanson now has day-to-day operational responsibility for Cadmus’ content and publications print operations in the United States, India and Asia.
Toby Potter joined Peachtree City, GA-based Printegra as Southeastern regional sales manager. He has 24 years of industry experience.
Stuart, FL-based Southeastern Printing has made several personnel moves. Robert Scott has been promoted to pressroom manager. Robert Louis has been hired as controller. Also Kris Phillips moves from senior press operator to account executive.
Van Lanen Printing has appointed Judy Johnson, Elizabeth Robertson and Jon Loth as sales account executives. Johnson and Robertson, located at Van Lanen’s main office in Green Bay, WI, are now calling on national, regional and local accounts. Jon Loth is working with Van Lanen customers in the Southeastern United States from Van Lanen’s newly established base of operations in Charlotte, NC.
Sir Speedy has appointed Richard Lowe as company president. Lowe was previously senior vice president of franchise operations. Lowe replaces Dan Beck, a 10-year veteran of the position who has been appointed president and COO of Imaging Solutions.
