Texas Stalwart Motheral Acquired by Ovation Graphics
FORT WORTH, TX—After 78 years of family ownership, Jim Motheral, president of Motheral Printing, announced that his company has been sold to Ovation Graphics. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ovation Graphics recently purchased Fort Worth's Branch-Smith Printing and is affiliated with Ussery Printing, of Irving, TX.
According to Daniel Hanson, Ovation's president, "We are delighted to announce this acquisition and to welcome the Motheral team to our growing family. Our intention is to continue to build the finest print group in the Metroplex and to consolidate our operations into Motheral's 150,000-square-foot facility located near the DFW airport."
Motheral Printing is known nationally as a provider of commercial printing, catalogs, special interest magazines, corporate literature and packaging products. In 2004, Motheral expanded to its current CentrePort location, but rapid changes in technology coupled with the lingering effects of the recession eventually triggered the decision to sell.
"Motheral Printing is proud to have been a leader in the printing industry for more than 78 years. It was in the best interest of all of our stakeholders to sell the business to an organization that could combine our capabilities with others to offer expanded services," Jim Motheral said.
