Quad/Graphics Closing Plants in Two States
SUSSEX, WI—Quad/Graphics Inc. will cease production at its Richmond, VA, and Stillwater, OK, facilities as part of its ongoing plan to integrate operations following the company's acquisition of Worldcolor. A total of 365 employees combined will be impacted by the closures.
Joel Quadracci, Quad/Graphics chairman, president and CEO, said the move was another step in the company’s two-year integration process, which is designed to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of its manufacturing platform.
The Richmond plant encompasses approximately 225,000 square feet and currently employs 125 people. It will run at full production until it closes next month.
Approximately 240 people work at the nearly 350,000-square-foot Stillwater printing facility. It will begin stepping down operations in December and cease production in May 2012.
Customer work at both plants will be consolidated into other Quad/Graphics facilities.
