The result is QR codes linking to non-existent pages. There can also be human error (like not capturing the entire URL in order to create the code) that makes the QR code non-functional.
"Especially if we're doing something in a traditional print piece, we test the artwork before it goes to print," notes Stewart of Trekk Cross-Media. "We always have a handful of people with different phones and different QR readers scan the code to make sure that it works."
