New Press = Smaller Runs = Competitive Edge
FORT WAYNE, IN--"Our 40? Komori LS 640 was running at full capacity, and we saw the need to expand our pressroom capabilities to meet the growing demand for short-run jobs," says Rick Keefer, president of Keefer Printing. "Given the success we have had with our existing press, adding a Komori LSX 629 press was a natural complement to the LS 640. Now, we have both presses running at the same time, enabling us to meet all of our clients' needs even faster than before." Keefer Printing chose the new six-color, 29? LSX 629, equipped with aqueous coater, as a competitive edge for small- to mid-size print requests. Since the installation, Keefer reports that it has drastically reduced the makeready time from 90 minutes to an average of 30-45 minutes, playing an instrumental role in Keefer's short-run work profitability.
Santa Is Coming to Town...in Viper Style!
DALLAS--Padgett Printing brought Santa and Mrs. Claus to the annual "Christmas in July" event held at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC). This is the ninth year for the event, and Padgett is an integral part of the tradition.
Pictured here, David Torok, president and CEO, drove Santa, while Chip Chebuhar, Padgett vice president and sales manager, drove Mrs. Claus to the event. For the occasion, sleighs were exchanged for Torok's two Christmas-red Vipers.
Santa and Mrs. Claus handed out Padgett-donated toys to the patients, and Santa had pictures taken with many of the children, who then received the souvenir photo. Some children attending Christmas in July participated in the TSRHC Holiday Card contest, wherein three holiday designs created by TSRHC patients will be selected and featured as the hospital's Holiday Cards for 2008.
Padgett Printing, a long-term friend and generous contributor to TSRHC, has donated the printing of the cards for many years and will be printing the 2008 series.
