ARIZONA
BULLHEAD CITY—Two Quad-Stack web printing units from Web Press Corp. have been purchased by Brehm Communications, one for its News West Publishing location here and the other for its Princeton Publishing facility in Princeton, IN.
CALIFORNIA
HAYWARD—A new five-color, 40˝ Roland 500 press with in-line coating from MAN Roland is up and running at Alonzo Printing.
COLORADO
DENVER—Having purchased its second HP Indigo press ws4500, Lightning Labels is reportedly the only shop in North America to own a pair of the label and packaging digital presses.
GLENWOOD SPRINGS—Gran Farnum Printing has installed a new Fujifilm Dart 4300 platesetter and Fujifilm FLH-85-Z processor, and is now using Fujifilm LH-PJ plates.
SALIDA—Arkansas Valley Publishing has ordered Quad-Stack web printing units from Web Press Corp. for its Goss Community press line.
FLORIDA
JACKSONVILLE—The Southeast Division of Trend Offset Printing is installing a new Goss M-600 web press with JF-55 combination folder, along with a new Muller Martini PrimaPlus 10-pocket saddlestitcher, as part of a $10 million expansion.
STUART—Multicolor Printing has invested in a rebuilt Kluge EHD Series press that will expand its capabilities into foil stamping, embossing and diecutting applications.
GEORGIA
ATLANTA—To offer its customers innovative options such as 3-D printing and direct mail pieces, Dove Mailing has installed a new Xerox iGen3 digital color press.
STONE MOUNTAIN—A new five-color, 40˝ Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 press with aqueous coating has been acquired by Wallace Graphics.
ILLINOIS
CHICAGO—The Chicago Tribune purchased three NELA VCP Vision punch/benders to work in-line with its existing Western Litho Lith-X-pozer platemaking units.
MARYLAND
BALTIMORE—Women-owned Art Litho Printing Solutions announces its qualification as a G7 Master Printer by GRACoL.
MASSACHUSETTS
BOSTON—A new Heidelberg Printmaster QM 46 press has been added at BFS Business Printing, where it complements two other Heidelberg presses.
BRAINTREE—George H. Dean Co., a full-service commercial printer, recently added a new SAMI mail envelope inserter from Buck Automation to enhance its direct mail capabilities.
HINGHAM—The press inventory at commercial printer J.M. Perrone has been boosted with the installation of a Xerox iGen3 digital color press.
MINNESOTA
MINNEAPOLIS—To launch its new Reflections24 digital division, Reflections has added new technology, including a Kodak Nexpress 2100 digital color press. The printer, which is a certified G7 Master Printer, was also recognized in the 2007 Premier Print Awards, taking home Best in Category for excellence in production.
NEVADA
LAS VEGAS—With its new six-color, 40˝ Mitsubishi Diamond 3000S press, equipped with a Peak UV and infrared drying system from Air Motion Systems, Haig’s Quality Printing has experienced a boost in sales due to its ability to now offer UV printing and printing on plastic substrates.
NEW YORK
ROCHESTER—DPI Commercial Printing has installed a new six-color Komori Lithrone S40 (LS640) sheetfed press with aqueous coater at its new 25,000-square-foot facility.
OREGON
MEDFORD—CDS Publications, a Consolidated Graphics company, purchased a new Xeikon 6000 digital color press with an X-800 digital front end from Xeikon, a Punch Graphix brand.
PORTLAND—To take its variable data printing to the next level, ADPRINT Co. installed a new Xerox DocuColor 8000 digital color press.
PENNSYLVANIA
OLD FORGE—Global Print & Design has announced the grand opening of its new location at 800 West Oak St.
SHARON—More than satisfied with its first two HP Indigo digital presses, Victor Printing has installed a third—an HP Indigo press 5500.
TEXAS
DALLAS—A Kluge EHF Series press, from Brandtjen & Kluge, is enabling Lockhart Industries to add foil and embossing techniques to the presentation folders that it produces.
WICHITA FALLS—Scripps Texas Newspapers, which prints the Times Record News, purchased a second Kodak Trendsetter News70 thermal platesetter.
VIRGINIA
FREDERICKSBURG—Having installed a Goss Flexible Printing System (FPS) last year, The Free Lance-Star has now added heatset capability to the configuration by equipping one of its FPS printing towers with a Goss Ecocool dryer with integrated chill rolls.
STERLING—All operations of Colorcraft of Virginia are now live on the printer’s newly implemented Prism-WIN print management system from Prism USA Holdings.
WISCONSIN
SHEBOYGAN—Universal Lithographers invested in a new Presstek 52DI digital offset press to meet its customers’ increased demands for short-run marketing materials.
WASHINGTON
BELLEVUE—A new six-color plus coater, 40˝ MAN Roland 500 press has been installed at CCS Printing.
EVERETT—Sound Publishing has added a second Kodak Trendsetter News100 thermal CTP device to help print the Investor’s Business Daily and 15 other small newspapers.
