IPA, the Association of Graphic Solutions Providers, has elected Bob Childs, COO of Digital Color Image, Pennsauken, NJ, to serve as its chairman of the board. The following officers were also elected: 1st vice chair, Gail Ludewig, president and CEO, TotalWorks, Chicago; and 2nd vice chair, Chip Harding, vice president and COO, Harper House, Dallas. David Schawk, Schawk Inc., Des Plaines, IL, is past chairman, Roni Buczynski, managing director, Vertis, North Haven, CT, serves as IPA treasurer; and Kent Hatterick, Beck: Premedia Workflow Compression, Atlanta, is secretary.
Hess Print Solutions, a Wellspring Capital Management company, announced that Daniel Bach has assumed the new position of senior vice president of education marketing and business development. Also, Robert Castillo was named vice president of operations, now assuming responsibility for all manufacturing plants. Wellspring acquired both The Press of Ohio and DB Hess in September 2006.
EU Services, Rockville, MD, announced the hiring of Mike Gutshall to the position of sales manager. Gutshall had worked previously with EU Services in a management capacity.
Allegra Network, based in Northville, MI, announced that Janice Milhem, director of sales and marketing, has been appointed as the franchisor’s new vice president of sales and marketing.
The Graphic Arts Association has named Philip C. Paravano Sr., of the The Paravano Co. in Doylestown, PA, as its 2007 Neographics “Person of the Year.” Paravano, 85, will receive this award of recognition at the Neographics dinner and awards ceremony on May 3 in Philadelphia.
In addition to becoming new partners at Future Graphics in Zebulon, NC, Pete Reckert was named president and Bob Price was named vice president. Reckert brings more than 20 years of experience in printing and sales at Litho Industries, an RR Donnelley company, where he served as vice president of sales. Price joins with more than 25 years of industry experience, including a stint at Litho Industries.
