Kevin Joyce, chief marketing officer of Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, is now a member of The Print Council’s Executive Committee. The Print Council is a business development alliance dedicated to promoting the greater use of print media.
manroland Canada has named Michael Mugavero as its new vice president of sales. Based out of manroland Canada headquarters in Vaughn, Ontario, Mugavero is now responsible for managing direct sales for sheetfed presses and assisting with sales on the web end of the business, in addition to maintaining his responsibilities for Eastern U.S. sales.
At G.F. Puhl, Greg Bumb has been tapped as the new director of sales, marketing and advertising, and is now responsible for bringing Puhl’s trim waste handling solutions to new and existing customers in printing and related industries.
Bill Brunone has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president of Targeted Ink-Jet Systems at Screen (USA). Joining the company in 2006, he first served in a consulting role representing Screen on digital printing, then in sales and market development of the Truepress Jet520 and Truepress Jet650UV.
At Sun Chemical, Brian Leen, who has worked within Sun Chemical’s pigment division for 18 years, has been named president, North American Inks, overseeing all of Sun Chemical’s North American inks businesses. These include Kohl & Madden, Rycoline, US Ink and North American Packaging. Leen has also assumed the interim role of president of North American Packaging. In addition, Myron Petruch has been appointed president of Performance Pigments.
At Vits America, Kim Markovich has been tapped as the new East Coast regional sales manager. Nick Gerovac has been appointed director of international sales and marketing, and is now responsible for the direct sales effort in North America, as well as a network of international agents.
Swiss company Schmid Rhyner AG has established Schmid Rhyner (USA) and opened its executive offices in Marlton, NJ. The wholly owned subsidiary will primarily concentrate its efforts to promote and distribute the company’s WESSCO UV curing coating products and GALACRYL water-based products.
Toyo Ink International announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Toyo Color America, has changed its company name to Toyo Ink Manufacturing America. The change reflects management’s decision to integrate Toyo Color’s existing business with the production and marketing operations of a new manufacturing plant in Bryan, TX.
GOEX has completed the installation of a co-extrusion line to support its investment in the graphic arts market. In conjunction with existing extrusion lines at its manufacturing facility in Janesville, WI, the new line is capable of running a variety of the materials, including polystyrene, PVC, PETG and polycarbonate.
Pitman Co. has acquired National Graphic Supply of Albany, NY. The acquisition extends Pitman’s market coverage in the Northeast region for commercial printing. In other company news, Dave Wilkins has been promoted to vice president of sales; Peter Moore will assume the role as company president in March 2009, succeeding Joe Demharter.
Toppy America has entered into an agreement to be the North American representative for Ecosystem Costrunzioni, of Rovererto, Italy. Ecosystem manufactures high-speed laminators featuring a rotating hot-knife cutting system (“Blade-Runner”).
Stan Tissue is the new outside technical sales representative at Gans Ink, responsible for Seattle and the surrounding regions of the Pacific Northwest.
Superior Printing Inks has announced four new appointments. Andrew Wasserman has been promoted to vice president of corporate accounts; Angel Torres has been promoted to vice president of New York operations; Paul Fernandez has been promoted to branch manager of the Teterboro, NJ, facility; and John Rutledge has joined the company as national sales manager.
As part of Pamarco Global Graphics’ strategy for integrating its offset division in Elk Grove Village, IL, which is focused on Pamarco’s Diamond brand rollers, it will be moving into its Wheeling, IL, plant, which manufactures Syntac rollers.
Tom Dieckman has joined Wausau Paper’s Printing & Writing segment as vice president of sales and marketing. He most recently served as vice president of direct sales at UPM-Kymmene.
Dave Frescoln, deputy chairman of Flint Group, has retired from the company. Frescoln joined Flint Ink in 1992 and, in 2005, played a significant role in the creation of Flint Group, leading the integration of Flint Ink with XSYS. PI
